Psalms 73:26 - My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. After a long, courageous battle with cancer, dad passed away on Sept. 23rd. Cliff is predeceased by his wife, Diana Linnen; parents, Ray and Kathleen Linnen; his father and mother law, Charles and Lea (Carolina) Chaskavich; and brother, Wayne Linnen. Cliff leaves behind his children, Brad (Stacy) Linnen; Christine (Rob) Roflik; and Jennifer (Wayne) Patterson; grandchildren, Kimberly Linnen; Christopher Linnen; Katie & Abby Patterson; Marcus & Carter Roflik ; Emily & Bridget Linnen; his sister in law, Patricia (James) Overend, sister-in-law Josie Linnen; nieces Jacquie (Fred) Curts, Sheri Linnen, Andrea (Scott) Taylorson; nephews, Kevin (Brandy) Linnen; and Ian (Shannon) Overend; great-granddaughter Kaylie. Always the consummate salesman, Cliff spent several decades in the real estate business. In 1998, Cliff began working at Sask Energy as a private contractor/resident Mr. Fix It. He loved going to work every day and he treasured the friendships he made. Cliff’s work at Sask Energy allowed his superb wood working abilities and handyman skills to flourish. Always with a project on the go, when not at work, dad could be found in his garage workshop (possibly teaching a grandkid or two how to hammer nails, etc.) or in his beautiful yard. Dad loved gardening and seeing the fruits of his labours. Family was always very important to dad. He jumped at the chance to watch his grandkids play sports or to attend their functions. For his grandchildren, going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house was always a time for fun and adventure. Grandpa will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. As most of you know, dad cared for our mother, Diana, through her endless battles with illness. Many miles were driven, taking mom for her specialist appointments (aka shopping trips). Dad never complained about becoming mom’s caretaker. He was a true example of “in sickness and in health”. Our family would like to say a very special thank you to the Russell/Boyle Angels. God surrounded mom and dad with the best possible neighbours. We are so grateful that you could be there to help when we couldn’t. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Pioneer Village for taking such wonderful, compassionate care of dad in his final weeks. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Kidney Foundation of Canada may be made. Prayers will be held at St. Martin’s RC Parish (4720 Castle Road) on Thursday, Sept. 25th at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Martin’s on Friday, Sept. 26th at 10:30am. Psalms 34:18 - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
