

Cunliffe Lister Neilmeyer was born in Lucea, Hanover, Jamaica on May 5, 1936, and died peacefully on June 10, 2022, in Regina, Saskatchewan. Cunliffe attended grade school at Munroe Academy in Jamaica, until at the age of 16, he moved to Dublin, Ireland for his post-secondary education at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Cunliffe graduated on July 3, 1959, and after interning in New York, he arrived in Canada and began his career as a doctor at the Balcarres Union Hospital where he met his wife Mildred Lovely (Millie). Cunliffe and Millie were married on September 11, 1962, and together they raised two children, Jeffrey (1963) and Brian (1966). Throughout his career as a doctor, Cunliffe lived in many towns throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In the later years of his career, Cunliffe worked for Veteran Affairs. Cunliffe had many interests including a love of reading, watching and playing tennis, sipping a good Scotch and travelling the world. During his life, Cunliffe travelled to over 80 countries of which he was very proud.
Cunliffe is predeceased by his wife Millie, his son Jeffrey, his sister Beverly Wirth, and his parents Gwendolyn and Lester. He is survived by his son Brian (Jacalyn), grandchildren Zoe and Zachary, and his great-grandson Finn Neilmeyer. Honoring his request, there will be no formal service.
