Dexter Thomas Albert Merasty

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dexter Thomas Albert Merasty. Dexter passed peacefully at home among loved ones. He was predeceased by his cherished grandparents Albert and Helena Cyr, his parents Dexter Cyr and Mary Merasty (Martel), his brother Paul Merasty, sisters Helen Morris, Lillian and Flora, his sons Terry and Thomas Wolfe. Dexter is survived by his lifelong companion Debbie Kahnapace, his children Jaclyn Merasty (Jeremy and Sienna), Cody Kahnapace, Rocky Kahnapace (Pam and children Cozad, Ava, Justice, Brynn and Addison), Danielle Kahnapace (Clinton and Kaidence), his sister Sharon Merasty and family, Stella Morin (JB) and family, Leona Pratt and family, brother-in-law Derek Morris and family, special cousin-brothers Tommy McNab, Ron McNab, Joe McNab and Clarence Longman and all the extended families. Dexter will be lovingly remembered for his outgoing personality, his laughter and sense of humor, his love of family and hockey. He always made time for and would do anything for his children and grandchildren, which were his greatest joys in life. On behalf of Dexter and our family we express our deep appreciation for all the thoughts, prayers, visits and support of family over the past few months and during this sad time. We also extend gratitude to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit and George Gordon First Nation for all the support.
