On Wednesday, January 11, 2012, Dorothy passed away peacefully at the age of 83 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born in Holdfast, SK. on November 8, 1928. She took a secretarial course at Balfour Tech but had to return to help on the family farm after the passing of her father. She married Steve Eberts in 1948 and raised her family on the Dundee area farm and later in the Town of Lumsden. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Steve and her parents; Frank and Margaret Ackerman. She was also predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters; Max Ackerman, Tom Ackerman, Rose (John) Anheliger, Chris (Mike) Klein, Jack Ackerman, Frank Ackerman, Sis Eberts, Mary (Len) Hazard, Sally (Joe) Ball, Dan Ackerman and infant Jerome Ackerman, as well as numerous in-laws. Also predeceasing Dorothy were sons-in-law Keith Korney and Kurt Stach. Mom is survived by her children; Richard (Glenny), Eileen, Bob, Arlene (Brian Krumm), Louise (Daryle Ramnes), Margaret (Vern Chypiska), 13 grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Anne Loveday, brother -in-law John Eberts, sisters-in-law Josie Ackerman, Daisy Schultz, Lizzie Geiss and Rosemarie Hubich. Dorothy devoted her life to her husband and family. Mom's proudest memories were of family gatherings at home and at the family cottage at Wee-Too Beach, SK. Dorothy was a woman of multiple talents; playing numerous musical instruments by ear, making something useful out of nothing, and preparing a feast for 10 people at a moment’s notice. A Funeral Service will be held at the Lumsden Centennial Hall at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lumsden Heritage Home: Box 479 Lumsden, SK.
