Gladstone A Tomlin

March 17, 1943 - August 28, 2024

Gladstone passed away on Aug 28, 2024 at the age of 81. He is predeceased by his brothers Siebert, Seymour, Cecil and Lloyd, his sisters Beryl and Jane; and his son Tyson. His parents Moses and Maudeline Tomlin

He is survived by his wife, Louise; his children Tanya, Travis, Tara, Tyler & Shannon (Bryce), Paul & Michael. His stepson, Delano (Amy); his grandchildren Ashton, Zachery, Anthony, Kayden, Gabriel and Kiana; great-grandchildren DeMarcus and Zebadiah; niece Pat; nephew Fitz; and numerous family members back home in Jamaica.

Glad had a passion and great interest in cars. He could tell you the make and model of pretty much any car on the road along with the positives & negatives of the cars features. He enjoyed meeting with his friends talking over a cup of coffee at Timmies and working in his garden.

Gladstone was born in Crooked River, Clarendon, Jamaica. He was a security guard for a spell before realizing he would have more opportunity in Canada. He came to Regina in the winter of 1970 as his sister Beryl had settled here for a time and saw snow and experienced the cold for the first time in his life. He was not impressed had never gotten used to the cold. Upon arrival, he unintentionally drove on the left side of the road more than once but would probably deny it if you were to have asked him again about it. He met Elizabeth, his first wife soon after starting at Pioneer Village and they had five children together. He had a daughter, Shannon as well. He married Louise in 2000 in Jamaica shortly after being introduced by a mutual friend.

He retired from Pioneer Village Nursing Home after working 39 years as a caregiver. He was friendly and talkative to everyone with plenty of laughs with his co-workers and the residents. Anyone that met him has a story that is filled with tears of laughter. He was a proud man who said what he meant and stood by his word. He always showed up for anyone that needed his help.

Dad had a full life who loved his family and friends.

Gladstone will be absolutely & forever missed by his family and friends.

A a Memorial Service for Gladstone will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4T 0Y5.
