March 8, 1967 - March 3, 2016
John Lipp Jr's remarkable journey has ended. His final 2 1/4-year journey with cancer was full of optimism, determination and purpose. He fought hard to the very end to spend quality time with his beloved wife Ying Shi and his precious son John Yuncheng Shi Lipp. By his own summary, John had "a good life." His journey began prematurely in Regina on March 8, 1967. He was born, anxious to get into this life and ready to fight to sustain it. He died in Vancouver on March 3, 2016, fighting NOT to leave his wonderful life. He had no regrets about his adventures, travels, and decisions to live life to the fullest. John was raised as a global citizen and he open-mindedly pursued equity and fairness throughout his journey. He lived, learned, worked and studied in Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Dubai UAE. He pursued the culture, food, customs and people of everyplace he lived and visited. Along his way he developed great passions for music, sports, language, food and culture. With his great capacity to build relationships, John connected to family, friends and colleagues in enduring and inspirational ways. With this community of significant witnesses, John found his life's partner Ying Shi in Shanghai and shared his journey with her, culminating in his greatest joy of parenthood. He left a beautiful legacy to his family and the world in his cherished son. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents John and Margaret Lee, his paternal grandparents John and Agnes Lipp and his special aunt Jane Pinnow and Ying's beloved father Shi Haiping. John is survived by his wife Ying, his son John, his parents John and Margaret, his sister Jolene and husband Marshall in Regina and his brother Anthony and wife Peggy and nieces Sophia-Rose and Scarlett in Switzerland, and Ying's mother Pan Guiying.
