Katherine Grace Campbell (Kay) was born October 1, 1930. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022 surrounded by love. Katherine was born at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Edgar and Agnes Campbell. Kay was the third of four children (Donald, Anne & Roger). She took her elementary education in rural schools and graduated from the high school in Shaunavon in 1948. During the years 1948-1950, Kay studied at the Moose Jaw Normal School (Teachers College for the young folk) and started her teaching career in the summer of 1950. Her first assignment was in one of those one room schools known as Cornwall School. This school was located in the Qu’Appelle Valley just south of Southey. In fact, it was here that she met the love of her life, Erhardt. After four more years in the rural schools, Kay began teaching at Southey School. She retired in 1992 after completing 34 and a half years of service. Kay enjoyed her profession immensely and taught many students to read and write over the years. Katherine was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend Erhardt Heinrich Siebert January 28, 1955 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Regina, SK. Katherine raised her five children with love, grace, and kindness. She taught them to read, write and cook. They would often take family camping trips and picnics to see the natural beauty in the world. Katherine was an educator at heart. She was kind and soft spoken and always had time to answer a question or help solve a problem. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Katherine is survived by her daughters Brenda (Ted), Judy (Ron), Susan and Barb (Mike);
grandchildren Terence (Katherine), Janel (Francois), Nicole (Dave), Sarah (Jesse) and Megan
(Jarrod); great-grandchildren Taylor, Jayda, Jade (Ashley), Nevaeh, Aubrie, Chloe and Emily;
and great-great grandchild Jaxon; as well as extended family and many special friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Edgar & Agnes; brothers Donald and Roger; as well as sister Anne; husband Erhardt; son Leslie James Siebert; and grandson Dallas Lee
Olson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Southey Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Southey Cemetery.
