Marlene was born January 23, 1937 in Earl Grey, Saskatchewan and peacefully passed away on March 26, 2012 with family by her side. Marlene was a resident of Pioneer Village for 11 years and was lovingly cared for each day by her husband and many kind staff on 3-West and 4-West. Marlene is survived by her caring husband, Gordon of 52 years and two children; Colleen (Len) Huber of Regina and their family Steph and Natasha; Glenn (Vivian) Wilson of Great Falls, Montana and their family Luke and Nate. Marlene is also survived by her brother Lorne (Arla) Everett of Winnipeg, MB and sister Clarice (Pete) Penner of 108 Mile Ranch, BC and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George and Jennie Everett and in-laws, James and Lucy Wilson. Marlene loved her family and was willing to support them in any way. She was a natural musician sharing her gift of voice, organ, piano and accordion. She played for the congregation at Faith Baptist Church and others and for so many special occasions. The family moved a number of times and Marlene always opened our home to new friends who enjoyed her wonderful meals and delicious baking. Marlene's diagnosis of Alzheimer's eventually took her voice but never her spirit. Right to the last few days her eyes shone bright. The family is so grateful and thankful to the very special staff of Pioneer Village 4-West for their caring ways with Marlene and our family. Friends so wishing may make a donation in Marlene's memory to the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region c/o Regina Pioneer Village. There will be a public visitation with the family on Thursday, March 29th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. Online condolences may be made at www.victoriaavenuefuneral.com.
