We are saddened to announce the passing of Max Kuntz on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the age of 81. Max is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Julia; children Brenda (Gary) Frohlick & their children Andrea (Stefan) and Aaron; Randy (Wendy) Kuntz & their children Tyler (Emily), Travis, Tess and Thomas; Sharon (Doug) Klotz & their children Jason (Janice), Amy and Tara; Doug (Jackie) Kuntz & their children Billie (Curtis) and Brandon (Sara); 2 great grandchildren Jayden and Ryviera; sisters Anne Vizer & Theresa Kuntz; sister-in-law Rose Kuntz; and many friends & family. Max is predeceased by his parents, Valentine and Theresa Kuntz; brothers John, Tony, & George; sisters Margaret, Magdalena & Johanna; and brothers-in-law Henry Oswald, Louis Vizer & Mike Fisher. Max grew up and farmed at Osage until moving his family to Regina. He worked for Canada Post, retiring after 29 years. Max was a die-hard hockey and baseball fan and his favourite teams were the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. As well, he loved curling, both as a competitor and a fan, and curled up until two months prior to his passing. He seldom missed his daily coffee with his pals at the Northgate Mall. Spending time at the cottage at Lipps Beach with his family was at the top of his list of enjoyment. Max enjoyed many hours watching his grandchildren at their numerous activities. Grampa Max will be forever missed. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Parish, 100 Argyle Street in Regina with Fr. J.B. Okai officiating. A special thanks to Denise Neff who helped Dad and our families through his illness. Thank you to Dr. Koul, Dr. Clein, Cliff Geiger, Tim Abellow and staff of Palliative Care at Pasqua Hospital and William Booth for their compassion and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
