Nellie passed away peacefully at Parkside Extendicare at about 4:00 am. She was predeceased by her father John Szysky, Louis and Mary Posyniak (2nd marriage), brothers Stanley (Mary) Szysky, Tony (Edith) Szysky, Henry (Alma) Posyniak. She is survived by her brother John (Vivian) Posyniak as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She lived all her life in Regina working for the Federal Government with PFRA. Nellie was a very serious artist having painted the 12 Stations of the Cross and other works at St. Anthony’s Parish. Many of her other paintings were given to her family and friends. As a parishioner of St. Anthony’s from its inception, she became the choir director and was involved with much of the activity there. Nellie spent most of her holidays from work and after retirement at Camp Monahan where she was Camp Chief, directing activities for the boys and girls. The kids loved and respected her efforts to keep them happy and contented. She did this for about 30 years. She had many other talents, especially gardening, taking after her mother who was a well-known horticulturist. She was good at sports including badminton, bowling, a fierce competitor. A Roughrider fan too! She was truly one of a kind, a supporter of many charitable organizations, and a lover of good music. A special thank you to the staff at Parkside Extendicare, for their care during her difficult last years.
