January 28, 1947 - April 25, 2012
Ralph passed away peacefully with his family by his side the evening of April 25, 2012 at the Pasqua Palliative Care Centre. Ralph was predeceased by his father Cyril, his mother Winifred, his sister Dianne & grandson Nicholas. Ralph is survived by Gail, his wife of 43 years, and their children Jonathan (Myrna), Lisa & Lori, and his grandsons Carson & Nathan. Also surviving are his siblings Ev Colpitts, Danny (Heather), Bill (Sandy), Kurt (Linda), Midge/Valerie (Fred) Bayer, aunts, uncles & Ralph’s 24 nieces and nephews & many newly arrived grand nieces and nephews. Ralph’s greatest joy and pride was his family. Ralph most enjoyed his time with family and his many friends, especially in the past few years. Ralph was always a friend to anyone he met, and willing to assist in any way he could. Ralph was born in Gravelbourg and lived his early years in Regina until the family moved to Saskatoon where he attended Mount Royal Collegiate before entering the RCMP in 1965. Following his Training at Depot, Ralph and Gail married and started their family in Regina. Ralph joined Customs Canada and worked at the Port of Oungre. The family moved back to Regina and over the following years, Ralph spent the majority of his working career in marketing, ending his working career with the NDP, where he worked until his passing. Ralph’s passions were many, including his love of cars, automotive repairs, motorcycles, soccer, football and hockey. Ralph’s love of animals was only second to that of his family, which included his canine companion Jazz. Ralph was dearly loved, and will be missed very much by family and friends. Gail, Jonathan, Lisa and Lori wish to say a special thank you to Midge and Fred for their unwavering love, support and weekend get-togethers. The family wishes to also thank the entire palliative care unit at the Pasqua Hospital for their care of Ralph and family. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue. Donations in Ralph’s memory may be made to the Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4F-4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5 or the Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143 STN Main, Regina, SK S4P 9Z9.
