Sherlon Agustus Hussett, aged 83, passed away peacefully on the palliative care unit at Pasqua Hospital in Regina. He faced chronic kidney and heart disease with strength and remained courageous until the very end. Sherlon was a strong-willed, hardworking man who was deeply devoted to his family. A loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he spent his final days surrounded by his children, grandchildren, friends, and members of the community. His room overflowed with heartfelt memories, shared prayers, gentle tears, and above all, love.
Sherlon was born in Claremont, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to Louise and David Hussett and was one of 14 children. Sherlon spent his early years managing the local supermarket. He was rarely idle, finding joy in riding his motorcycle and playing pool or dominoes.
In 1974, Sherlon immigrated to Canada, determined to build a better life for his family. He took great pride in raising his seven children: Angela, Carol, Shernett, Sherlon Jr., Marlene, Richard, and Jason. Life in Canada was a significant adjustment from Jamaica, often marked by challenges and cultural shifts. Sherlon worked as a mechanic and, through perseverance and hard work, eventually made Regina his home. One of his proudest achievements was purchasing his home in 1976, where he lived for nearly 50 years. His backyard became a quiet haven—home to a lush vegetable garden that he carefully tended each summer. He especially treasured time spent on the backyard swing with his grandchildren, sharing stories and laughter.
A skilled domino player, Sherlon was an active member of the Regina domino league. His home proudly displayed numerous trophies, a testament to his competitive spirit and talent. Through the league, he formed enduring friendships that brought him great joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Sherlon’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
