Stephen Sobchuk

Stephen was born August 15, 1922 near Riceton, SK. He passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. At the time he was residing at Elmview Extendicare. He is survived by his children; Barb (Harv), and Stan (Janice), six grand-children; Kim, Kelly, John, Stephen, Melissa and Michael, eight great-grand-children; Aeliesha, Sean, Taylor, Brylee, Caleb, Aiden, Jacob and Alison. He was predeceased by his brothers; John and Henry, and is survived by his sister Mary, whom he enjoyed phone conversations with. Steve was predeceased by his wife Dorothy. They had been married for fifty-two years, and he missed her very much. Together they farmed near Lang SK. Steve loved being on his farm and especially enjoyed caring for his animals. He was always excited in the spring when new calves would be born. He was a deeply religious man, and a very caring and loving man. He was a good father and grand-father, who was such an important part of our lives, and who showed us so much warmth and acceptance. We will miss him greatly. Prayers will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East, Regina on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1757 Toronto Street, Regina on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Lang Cemetery.
