Born in Reading on February 8, 1950, Barry loved Disney and Disney characters from a very young age. His favorites were Minnie Mouse and Tigger. He enjoyed the trips he took with his brother to Disney World and had a splendid time being treated like a king on the Disney Cruise.
Barry was a member of the Reading Volunteer Fire Department- Friendship Fire Co. #4. The Fire Co. was like family to him and he loved being there. He was very sad when he could no longer go there due to illness.
He was a huge sports fan. His family joked that he was only a fan of the winning team! He enjoyed NASCAR and the Philadelphia Flyers but he was a total fanatic for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Barry was employed for several years as a maintenance person at National Properties and OB Dyers.
Surviving Barry are his two brothers, Brian K. Kleinsmith and his wife, Virginia "Ginny" of Womelsdorf and Bruce E. Kleinsmith of Zelienople; two nieces; three nephews; two great nieces and his furry friend, Opie.
In addition to his parents, Barry is predeceased by a sister-in-law, Laurie Kleinsmith.
Services for Barry will be private and at the convenience of the family. Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, Reiffton is entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions or donations be made to Kutztown Manor, 120 Trexler Ave., Kutztown, PA 19530.
