Carolyn Ann (Harris) Henke, 71, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon. Carolyn was born November 22, 1947 in Pottsville, a daughter of the late James Harris and Betty (Nelms) Snopek.
She was a Pottsville High School graduate and went on to be a Certified Nursing Assistant at the former Leader Home now known as ManorCare Sinking Spring. From there she moved over to the former Community General Hospital in the city. Carolyn then transferred to St. Joseph Hospital as a CNA but then took up housekeeping and remained there for over 20 years.
Carolyn was a life member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading. She enjoyed ceramics and crafts. She also liked karaoke and would sing Patsy Kline and Brenda Lee hits. But mostly, Carolyn is known for her tight bond with her daughter, Crystal. They were always together.
Carolyn is survived by her best friend and daughter, Crystal L. Henke and her companion, Kyle W. Danner; her grandson, Julian Valderrama; two brothers, James and Robert Harris; a sister, Joanne Autera and a stepmother, June Harris.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother and father James and Betty; two brothers Terrance and William "Davidio" Cox and a sister, Lisa Harris.
Services for Carolyn are private and at the convenience of the family. Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, Exeter Twp. is entrusted with the arrangements.
