Dad, it's just a bit past 1:00 am and here I sit in my quiet house reflecting on this mornings final farewell. Over the past week, I kept telling myself, " well Sherri, another chapter of your life is closed". And it hurt. So to bring some comfort to myself, I choose to believe that this chapter, among many others, is merely on hold until another place and time. You were so proud of the time you served in the United States Navy. Myself and your other children remember the stories about your service on the USS Midway. As we sat by your casket, while the sailor played Taps, my grief subsided to allow room in my heart for another emotion. PRIDE. I'm proud of you Dad, and I love you. I will think of you often. Until this chapter continues.💙🙏
