Aaron Matthew Purdum, age 49, of Seattle, Washington passed away suddenly on Monday February 28, 2022. Aaron was born to Robert and Noreen Purdum in Pikeville, Kentucky on February 23, 1973 and spent his childhood growing up in Ohio.
Aaron served in the United States Air Force from December 1991-August 1999 as a weather forecaster. After serving in the Air Force, Aaron pursued a career at FedEx Express in November 1999 first as a courier and then as an Operations Manager in the Cleveland, Akron, and Seattle areas.
Music has always been a part of Aaron’s life, and playing in many bands during his lifetime whether it was leading vocals and playing guitar or keeping that driving beat on the drums. He was very involved in the local music scene as well as playing music on Sundays at church. His bands have opened for national/international acts including Shonen Knife (Japan), The Real McKenzies (Canada), The Legendary Shack Shakers (USA), The Nekromantix (Denmark/USA), among others, and played with countless local acts.
Aaron was also a devoted papa and husband and absolutely adored his family and loved them fiercely. He relished in time spent with them whether it was out adventuring around the city or at home snuggled together on the couch for movie night.
Aaron is survived by his wife of 17 years, Prasti, their 5 children Tyler, Emma, Gibson, Cash, and Leilani; his father, Robert Purdum of Wickliffe, OH; his mother, Noreen Purdum of Parma, OH; his sister, Corrie Purdum of North Olmsted, OH; and his brother, Jonathan Purdum of Olmsted Falls, OH, along with many extended family members and friends. His joyful spirit and laughter was infectious, and his impact in the lives of many is, to quote a friend, “a testament to the deep rivers of current influence, friendship, and love of AC [Aaron].”
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4 (NIV)
