AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Albert Elwood Kull Jr.

Décédé(e) le 16 OCTOBRE 2022
Avis de décès de Albert Elwood Kull Jr.
AUX SOINS DE

Greenwood Memorial Park & Funeral Home

Albert E. Kull, Jr., 79, passed away on October 16, 2022, at his home in Burien, Washington, after a long illness.

Born in 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Albert E. and Mary E. Kull. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and Bellmawr, NJ, and graduated from Triton High School in 1960. He served stateside in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA. He was married from 1968 to 1975 and had a daughter, Jennifer, with wife Suzanne, in 1969. He moved to California in the early 1970s where he pursued an AA degree from Pasadena City College. Al had a long career in banking, having been employed as a Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank for many years in Southern California and later in lending at Qualstar Credit Union in Seattle, until his retirement in 2004.

Al played tenor saxophone in his formative years as part of the Philadelphia Mummers string band tradition. His fondest memories of his youth were spending summers at his grandmother’s house in Cedar Beach, Delaware. He was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, including the Phillies and Eagles (with one of his last joys being watching the Eagles beat Dallas), and was an avid horse-racing enthusiast who enjoyed hanging with his buddies doing off-track betting at Emerald Downs. He loved crabbing and the many vacations spent on the Jersey shore, and, later, Chincoteague Island, VA, with family. He was a devoted father and grandfather being a dedicated presence in the lives of his daughter and, later, her children. He will be remembered for his generosity, wit, and humor. Aptly described in his senior high school yearbook as “carefree…clowns a lot…always ready with a joke,” Al will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Grant, his son-in-law, Steve Grant, his grandchildren, Miles and Caroline, his sister Janet DiDomenico, and nephew, Matthew DiDomenico. He is predeceased by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Matthew DiDomenico, Sr.

No funeral or memorial is immediately planned. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of choice.
