Clinton Dewitt Richardson Sr. was born in Vernon, Oklahoma on December 19, 1930. He was raised by his parents William and Nora Richardson, on a farm in Auburn along with his sisters Alma and Bernice. He graduated from Auburn High School and excelled at many activities including track and football. His athleticism earned him a scholarship to Washington State University. He graduated from WSU in 1954 with degrees in Science and Education and Administration. His dedication broke barriers and lead him to one of his greatest achievements, as he became one of the first African American Public-School Administrators in the Seattle District. As his career flourished, God blessed him with his angel and the love of his life, Candance Blossom James. The two would later profess their love for one another in 1955 in Holy Matrimony. Holy Matrimony reminds us of the gravity of two becoming one in God’s eyes, the union between man and woman. Their love was one of a kind, withstanding the test of time, and spanned generations. 66 years later, their love burns as bright as the sun, and will be cemented as one of the greatest loves in our lifetime.
He is survived by his wife Candace, his three sons: Clint jr, Keith, Craig, and his daughter Colleen. He was loved, adored, and admired by all his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was a man of faith and religion and he built the foundation of his family around it as well. His family has attended The Immaculate Conception Church every Sunday for decades. Each of his sons were Altar Servers for the Church, Clint Sr. administrated the Sunday School service, and Candace was a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. In his later years after retirement, he served as an Usher for the church. He began each day with grace and ended each night with a prayer. He was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus whose light shined so bright that the lord himself came to take him home.
There are not enough pages in a book that could cover the achievements that this great man has accomplished. From his athletic career to his accomplishments in school administration, the examples are vast and never-ending. In his youth he excelled in sports and competed in Football, Basketball, and Track for Auburn High. Going on to earn a Football and Track Scholarship at WSU where he Achieved All-American Honors for the Cougars in the triple jump during his Sophomore year and the Long Jump in his Junior year.
