David Roger Young

David was born in Mount Vernon, WA on Feb. 2 1952. He passed away at his home in Renton, WA March 4, 2013 with his wife Debra at his side.

David is survived by his loving wife Debra at the family home in Renton, his parents Bud and Rose Young of Longview, Wa, and four children, Paul of Auburn, Scott of Redmond, Krissandra and Mike of Longview. David is also survived by a brother and sister in law Robert & Lois Young of Mount Vernon. and a sister & brother in law Rosemary & Mark Ellis of Kelso. David is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

David and Debra enjoyed many interests and passions including a love for animals, travel, movies, games, native cultures, books and service. David followed in the footsteps of his great grandmother and welcomed creatures both domestic and wild into their lives and home. Many of their travels found them in wildlife sanctuaries and zoos.

David became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in teaching and organizational capacities. In recent years David pursued and obtained an advanced degree in Elementary Education and loved working with children in many capacities.

The Committal Service / Military Funeral will be held at 9:30 AM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM at the Renton Highlands building of the LDS Church at 816 Field Ave NE, Renton, WA 98059.
