

On July 9, 1937, Delores Marie Fuller, was born to the late Deacon Burney W. Fuller and Bernice Walker Fuller in Grand Cane, Louisiana. Delores often reminisced about her joyous childhood experiences and expressed a deep love for her brothers and sisters throughout her life; as she was one of ten children.
She was baptized at an early age at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Kingston, Louisiana.
Delores graduated from the Desoto Parish Training School in 1955 alongside her 115 classmates, which included her brother, Caroliner Fuller IV.
On January 18, 1959, Delores married the love of her life, the late John L. Capers, at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. Their union was blessed with three children: Ulinda Faye Capers-Robinson (James), Morris Bernard Capers, and Geraldyne Cynthia Capers-Evans. In 1962, Delores and her family relocated to Seattle, Washington where she resided until her passing.
In Seattle, Delores joined the Damascus International Fellowship Church, where she was an avid Sunday school goer and a faithful member of the choir. She worked many years in retail before later retiring as a school bus driver from ‘First Student’, after over 20 years of service. During her tenure was awarded several awards for safe driving and even prefect attendance. She took pride in being a professional driver and connecting with diverse families throughout Seattle.
On September 21, 2024, as mandated by God, the giver of mortal and eternal life, Delores, was called home, at 87 years of age. Loving memories will forever live in the hearts of those she held dear. Delores was preceded in death by her parents Burney and Bernice; husband John L. Capers; daughter Geraldyne; and her siblings Peter, Murtha D., Jonetta, Elexie, Caroliner, Bertha Marie, and Clarence.
She is survived by three siblings: Ruby Fuller Edwards, Burnett Fuller, and Bernice V. Fuller Houston, daughter Ulinda, son Morris, grandchildren: Sheena Evans, Shannon Evans, John T. Capers (Lexi), Morris W. Capers, great grandchildren: Mia Smith, Andrew Perkins, Camilla Capers, Marcel Triplett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
