She married Loyal Edward "Babe" Johnson on December 15, 1949, in Pittsburg, Kansas where they raised their family of two sons, Doyle Edward and Gregory Wayne. They moved to Seattle, Washington in September of 1965.
Dee is survived by her two sons, Doyle (Arlene) Johnson and Greg (Sherry) Johnson. Four grandchildren, Shannon Johnson, Justin Johnson, Heather Johnson, and Jason Johnson.
Also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren. One sister, Daisy Jones, and one brother, Bob Whetzell, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, LE "Babe" Johnson, her parents, John and Bertha Whetzell, and a brother, John Whetzell, Jr., and a sister, Ramona Smith
