Donald Clayton Richards

He was born on May 1, 1929 in Lake Linden, Michigan to parents Clayton and Irene Richards.

He married the love of his life Eunice Wiitaniemi on December 22, 1951.

He served as a Sergeant in the US Army.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering at Michigan Tech, and moved to Western

Washington to work for the Boeing Company in 1958. When he left Boeing, he began using his eye for

beauty, his handyman skills, and his engineering skills to design, and build beautiful custom craftsman

homes. Donald enjoyed traveling with Eunice, sailing, woodworking, making jewelry, collecting and polishing

rocks and gemstones, bird-watching, playing the Ukulele, playing with his grandchildren, and great

grandchildren. When he smiled, his smile would light up the whole room.

He is survived by his ever-loving wife of 63 years, Eunice Richards of Issaquah, WA. Their son

Dennis Richards. Their grandchildren Shannon and Donald Hyde of Covington, WA.

Lisa and John Patten of Renton, WA. And Jennifer Daniels of Renton, WA. Their Great-Grandchildren Dominic and Lynsee Hyde,

Cody and Alivia Stillings, Donald, Ronald, and John Patten Jr, and Evey VanderPol. And many well-loved

relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Irene Richards.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday 2/18/15 from 10-11am and Funeral Services will begin at 11am at

Greenwood Memorial Funeral Home located at 350 Monroe Avenue NE Renton, WA 98056.

A motorcade will depart at 1:00 to travel to Tahoma National Cemetery for Military Honors Ceremony.

A reception will be held immediately following funeral services at Greenwood Memorial until 3pm.
