Dorothy (Didi) Webb Etelamaki was born April 11, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William R. Webb and Melissa Haynes Webb. She had 3 brothers (Robert, Joe, and Ken Webb) and 1 sister (Billie Webb) from this union and two sisters (Carol and Rose Howell) and one brother (Larry Howell) through her mother’s marriage to Marion Howell. In the 1940’s, the Webb Family moved to California and then to Washington State. Didi married Paul Etelamaki in 1957 and had three sons, Mark, Paul Russell and Joseph Timothy and one daughter Cynthia. Didi came to faith in Jesus Christ and was called into active ministry in the 1950’s and became an ordained Minister in 1957, serving in the Inner-city mission ministries with the Jericho Inn Mission in Seattle’s Pioneer Square District. Didi was an ever-ready volunteer and alter worker in the Seattle revival crusades of the 1950’s and 60’s who assisted in the early Evangelistic Ministries of Oral Roberts, A.A. Allen, R.W. Schambach, and many others of that era. Paul and Didi and their kids ministered to Seattle’s homeless community as a missionary team one to two nights per week throughout the 1960’s and 70’s; and Paul and Didi eventually became board ministers and Pastors at the Jericho Inn and provided the primary leadership for the Mission throughout the 1970’s, 80’s, and 90’s until Paul passed away in 1992. Didi continued as the Pastor and Chairman of the ministry up until her call to come home to the Lord on July 8, 2014. During Pastor Didi’s ministry in Seattle, she has literally touched the lives of tens of thousands of souls for good…providing much love, compassion, and assistance to hurting people in need. Didi’s son Mark has been serving as the Mission’s assistant pastor and as assistant to the chairman of the board since January 2014 and is now completing a Master’s degree in Systematic Theology from the Midwest Seminary of Bible Theology in Sikeston, MO. Didi was also a puppeteer and ventriloquist who entertained and encouraged the faith of those in many different health and elderly care facilities in Seattle with her puppet show starring “Vonita,” who was always a smashing success. Didi’s evangelistic work was also extended by assisting in the gospel teaching ministries of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission and the Bread of Life Mission.
