Eddie Barela Sr.

Renton, WA -Eddie passed away the evening of May 29th after battling cancer for the last several months. Eddie was born in Ely Nevada to Ramon and Emma Barela on May 27th, 1956. He was raised in Ruth Nevada. College took Eddie to SLC, Utah. He lived in Utah with his four children until his career in carpentry took him to Washington. There he met his other half Mary Ann, they were blessed with 30 years of love and togetherness. Anyone that spent time with Eddie knew that he had a deep love of family, friends and baseball. Eddie made a point to attend Spring Training each year in Arizona. He couldn’t get enough of the game. He passed along his love of the game to his companion, daughter, sons and grandchildren. His smile and quiet chuckle were contagious and you couldn’t help but feel happy and accepted in his presence. He was always ready for a good laugh and at times even a little mischief.

Eddie is survived by his long time companion and best friend Mary Ann Kendall of Renton, Washington his daughter Renae (Tracy) Gallo of Draper, Utah, sons Eddie Barela Jr. (Heather) of Houston, Texas, Eric (Mistie) Barela of West Valley, Utah, Wesley (Dymund) Barela of Riverton, Utah mother Emma Barela, brother Ernie Barela of Mora New Mexico, sister Gloria Barnson of Ruth, Nevada and his 10 beautiful grandchildren Madison, Madi, Robbie, Jake, Lexi, Ariana, Abbie, Emma, Domanic and Asher.

He is preceded in death by his father Ramon Barela and brothers Alfred and Roy Barela.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 5, at 7:30pm at Greenwood Memorial Park 350 Monroe Ave NE Renton, WA 98056
