

Edna M Gallagher
Edna was born in Cle Elum, Washington on November 2, 1923 to newly arrived English immigrants Thomas Enoch James and Mary “Polly” James. In 1930 the family moved to Bellingham, Washington in search of work and then eventually to Renton, Washington. Edna graduated from Renton High School in 1942. Edna was introduced to Kenneth G Gallagher by Ken’s sister, Grace Gallagher Gunn, who was one of Edna’s best friends in high school. Ken and Edna were married on June 26, 1943 (thanks Grace!). They were married for 64 years until Ken’s passing in 2007. Edna worked as an executive secretary at the Renton Vocational Institute from 1964 to 1985. She enjoyed shopping, time at the beach with her family, more shopping (with and without family), activities with the Jag Club that Ken and Edna belonged to and she excelled at baking apple pies! Edna also enjoyed working with stained glass, creating many pieces for family and friends. She also made all of the stained glass windows for the former All Saints Episcopal Church in the Rainier Valley of Seattle. Edna is survived by her daughter, Patricia Gallagher of Bothell, her son Jim Gallagher (Jeanne) of Kent and two grandsons, Kyle Gallagher of Enumclaw and Jamie Gallagher of Dallas, Texas.
