Ethan Michael Moseng was born on February 25, 1953, the fifth of eight children to Morris and Pearl Moseng in Montevideo, Minnesota. Shortly before his fourth birthday, his family moved from Minnesota to Spokane, WA. He graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane (class of 1971) and went on to attend Washington State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree (with honors) in Civil Engineering and his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering. While at WSU, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and grew an insatiable craving for God’s Word, resulting in a steadfast discipline of Bible study that would continue for the rest of his life.
Following his graduation, he entered the workforce for two years in Bellevue, WA before returning to Pullman to assist at the local Assembly of God church. While in Pullman, he accepted a position teaching basic engineering courses at WSU and reconnected with his church friends, including Kimberly Skinner. Their friendship continued to develop as they served at church together leading Bible studies and worship. On August 15, 1981, Ethan and Kimberly were married in Pasco, WA.
In 1983, they moved to Western WA when Ethan was hired as an engineer for the Washington State Department of Health in the Office of Drinking Water, where he worked in various positions for the entirety of his career. Also in 1983, he and Kim were blessed with a daughter, Leah Danielle, and three years later welcomed a son, Joshua Ethan. It was clear that his children were his pride and joy, earning him the nickname “Proud Papa”. Ethan was a man of great faith and demonstrated his devotion to God by leading worship, teaching Bible studies & Sunday school classes, and serving on the boards of churches he attended until his health no longer allowed. After enduring many years of serious illnesses, he passed peacefully on May 26, 2025. He was a faithful husband and loving father and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Morris and Pearl Moseng; brother, Lester Moseng; and sister, Phyllis Bass. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 44 years, Kimberly Moseng; daughter, Leah (Matthew) Davis; son, Joshua (Kaytlan) Moseng; sisters, Eileen Fiegl; Janet (Kerry) Roberts; LeeAnn (Wes) Reed; brothers, Larry Moseng; and Terry (Shirley) Moseng; granddaughters, Michaela & Gianna Davis and Naomi & Lydia Moseng; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
