Fern Deloris Davis of Carnation passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Fern was 83 years of age.
She was born March 10, 1929 in Sunnyside, Washington, the daughter of Hobart and Mable Mae Crawford.
As a child Fern lived in areas around Yakima, Goldendale, and Ferndale. She graduated from Goldendale High School on May 26, 1944. Fern was married June 10, 1950 to Calvin F. Davis. Cal was drafted into the Marine Corps soon after they were married. Upon Cal’s discharge from the service they moved to Benton City with their young daughter Diane. Fern lived her life as a loving mother and housewife and they had two additional children, John and Susan. Fern was an accomplished painter, loved to do hardanger embroidery and later in life took up quilting. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Sno-Valley Senior Center Quilters Group. Survivors include her daughters Diane (George) Magnochi of Carnation, WA, Susan (Paul) Liuzzo of Cleveland, Ohio, her son John (Chio Hoflich) Davis of Kent, WA, her brother Robert (Arlene) Crawford of Benton City, WA, and her grandchildren Ann Marie and Lena Magnochi, Shannon and Rhiannon Liuzzo, and John Kyle and Adam Davis. Those preceding her in death are her husband Calvin F. Davis, her parents Hobert and Mable Mae VanHorn, and her brother George Crawford.
A grave side service will be held at 3:00pm in the Green Memorial Park at 350 Monroe Ave NE, Renton followed by a friendly get together at 5:00pm in Carnation at the Sno-Valley Senior Center.
