Gerald S. Wells, 75, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away on January 24, 2011. He was born on July 21, 1935 to Snowden and Helen Wells. Gerald joined the United States Navy in 1952 and proudly served his country in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts until 1972. After his retirement from the Navy he worked as a Mechanical Engineer as both an inspector and instructor.
On March 3, 1954 he married the love of his life, Shirley. Together they raised three children, Julie, Steven and Joni. Gerald loved reading mystery novels, collecting rare coins and train sets. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, he could occasionally be found playing Barbie Dolls down on the floor with his granddaughters.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Shirley, children, Julie (Darren) Walsh, Steven (Robin Vogel) Wells, and Joni Wells, and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Walsh, Kelly Walsh, Samantha Wells and Robert Wells.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 at Greenwood Funeral Home, Renton, WA, followed by a committal service at Greenwood Memorial Park, Renton, WA.
