

He was born June 26, 1942, to Doctors Harold Nels and Edith Marion Gordon Rosengren in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from West Seattle High School in 1960. He went on to graduate from Dixie Junior College in St. George, Utah, and received a Bachelor's degree in microbiology from University of Washington in Seattle. In 1973 Gordon earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington Dental School.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year mission in New Zealand before his marriage. He also had the privilege of serving as a Seattle Temple ordinance worker for twenty years, among many other callings in his lifetime.
Gordon married Viola Rae Ashby in the St. George Temple in 1967. They had 48 lovely years together. They are the parents of seven sons and one daughter: Ross Gordon (Hannah Meservy), Scott Ashby (Christie Alger), Eric Bruce (Sherri Lundell), Rex Harold (Carla Wilson), Lynne Edith (Jeron Chamberlain), Stuart Earl (Amy Latimer), Karl Rodney (Susan Baughman), Wayne Bennett (Davanah Nina Keosovanh). Their posterity includes 38 grandchildren.
Gordon was a dentist in West Seattle and in Kent for 41 years. He was a man of many talents and hobbies, some of which include: ceramics, knitting, crocheting, and wood turning. In recent years, he spent many evenings crocheting during the commercials on TV, and many of his family enjoy the shawls or afghans he made for them.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015, in the LDS Renton Stake Center, 19714 106th Ave SE, Renton, WA.
Interment will be at Evergreen/Washelli cemetary in Seattle.
