Greg, the oldest of 5 siblings, was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 13, 1944. His parents, Woodrow M. and Eileen G. (Reed) Lemenager moved to Renton, Washington, where his father worked as the chief mechanic of Northwest Airlines.
Graduating from Renton High School in 1963, Greg was a natural athlete, in his senior year he was named the Renton Kiwanis Athlete of the year in baseball; a King County doubles tennis champion; and excelled in football and other sports.
Following high school he obtained an associates degree from Highline Community College and began his career at Boeing as a mechanic.
Gregory was drafted into the United States Army and served 3 years of which 9 months were in Vietnam, where he was a Sergeant leading convoys of supplies to the front lines. After the war he spent 10 years with Household Finance as a regional manager of the west coast operation spending time in Alaska, Idaho, Montana and California.
On July 17, 1976 Greg married Nina Stalker. On November 13, 1979 their son, David, was born. They were happily married for 49 years.
The remainder of his 28 year career was spent as the operations vice president at Tall’s Camera where he helped grow the business from one location in downtown Seattle to six locations throughout the Puget Sound region.
Greg always made time to build memories with family. He made it a priority to keep his family together after his parents died. Even though he worked long hours during Christmas time, he always found time to setup a 12 foot Christmas tree and host an annual Christmas Day brunch for upwards of 30 relatives.
As a season ticket holder, Greg enjoyed rooting for the Washington Huskies football team and supporting other local sports teams whenever they played. An avid angler, he regularly found time for fishing, even buying a fishing boat in retirement. In vacation, Greg could frequently be found relaxing on a Hawaiian beach, drinking wine, golfing at Lake Chelan, enjoying water sports at Sun Lakes, playing cribbage at Riverscene in Granite Falls or fishing in Conconully.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bruce Lemenager.
He is survived by his wife Nina (Stalker) Lemenager; son David (Marlies) Lemenager; grandchildren Cameron and Evianna Lemenager; sister Cally (Bill) Wressell; brothers Gary (Maggie) Lemenager, Joe (Toni) Lemenager; Sister-in-law Robin Lemenager; Brother-in-law John (Kay) Stalker; Sister-in-law Laura Moseng; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
