The world lost a beautiful soul today, my beautiful and loving wife Janis Mae Williams. Janis was born to Marilyn Christian and Terry McGriff on November 23rd 1955, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Medford OR.
In 1973, Janis began working at Sears. After 31 years she held numerous titles, and was responsible at times for as many as 89 stores. Her career took her from Medford to Portland Oregon, and then finally to Seattle Washington where she and her family have lived for over 30 years.
Janis met her husband Jerry in High School, and they began dating briefly. They reunited in 1983 at Cornerstone Christian Church, marrying later September 17th, 1983. Both raising their family with the belief of Jesus Christ as the center of the Williams family.
Janis was the matriarch of the Williams family, known for her loving care of her children and grandchildren. Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays were always enjoyed by the entire family at the Williams home. She always took pride in decorating, cooking, and creating treasured traditions and memories. In Janis’ spare time she loved raising her family, gardening, and activities with her grandchildren.
Janis is survived by her husband Jerry, her daughter Carrie, sons Christopher and Nicholas, along with 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Janis was preceded in death by her older sister Terry, and is survived by her sisters Judy and Diana.
Everyone knew Janis as the beating heart of her family – cherished deeply her husband, children, and grandchildren alike. The void she left behinds stands as testament to how irreplaceable she truly was. Her fierce love and unwavering passion for family shone through her strong, nurturing spirit, while her remarkable achievements over the years spoke volumes about her principled dedication to everything she valued.
