Sadly, I only got to knowJesse through our shared time on dialysis...in the years we have talked so deeply about our fight to find a better way of treatment...

Jesse was always looking outside the box that the medical world trys so hard to keep us in...he would share with me his attempted journey to make stem cell a real form of treatment for kidney failure...

I would tell him over and over to continue his reach for that, while still adhering to the current form of treatment, understandably that was difficult for him at times...

I pray you have found peace young man, you were an inspiration in my life, as I am sure in anyone that was blessed enough to have known you...

RIP dear Jesse....

Hey Jesse,  
you have accomplished your assignment in this mission earthbound.  
Now you can fly freely with no restraint of time and space.

Adieu mon ami.

So many wonderful memories that I was blessed to have shared with Jesse.. I had to write another entry.

One of those memories was during high school. For our senior year, in order to get the big lockers, it was required to have two people.. Jesse and I ended up signing up together. But in reality, I was the only one that used it the entire year. Jesse and I were also walking partners at graduation. I remember calling him that day wondering where he was cause we were about to go walk with our class and he wasn't there yet. He ended showing up right when it was our turn to walk.

Another memory I have of Jesse was before he entered the air force. He came over one day and he told me, "Mel, when I graduate and get my pilot license, I'm going to take you on an airplane and do lots of tricks in the air and go upside down." I said "Oh no way! You know how terrified of heights I am." He then smiled at me and chuckled a bit.

Inside joke that Jesse and I had was him calling me Lola (grandma in Tagalog) and me calling him Lolo (grandpa in Tagalog). I honestly don't know how that all started, but it stuck.

Jesse was one of the most kind-hearted, loving people that I've been blessed to have not only called him a friend, but also my brother. I'm very thankful to have had the chance on getting to know him so well. I will truly miss him and will always keep him in my thoughts..knowing he's smiling and looking down on all of us.

I've known Jesse for over 15 years, since middle school, and we've been close friends ever since. He's like the older brother I never had. I consider him as one of my best friends..he's like family to me. 

I'll miss his smile, laugh and "kuya to ading" talks the most. I remember one time when we got a few friends together and went down to Alki beach for a bonfire..we had trouble lighting the fire. Jesse found a cardboard box, did some kind of magic and was able to get the fire going. 

If you're having a bad day or feeling down, Jesse had a way of making it better. You can't help but smile and laugh when you're around him. One of the things he told me was:
"My dearest ading.. promise me that you will not change no matter the consequences. Be true and stay as a good funny person! Keep it real.. Have fun, cherished, and wish you the brightest future! Ading, if you need me, I'm always there to help you out. I'll always be your kuya."

Kuya Jesse, I promise to never change. You'll be dearly missed, but never forgotten. I love you Kuya.
