John E. Wilkinson

John served in the Merchant Marines and was a veteran of World War II serving in the Philippine conflict. He was active in the VFW and served two terms as Post Commander in Renton. John was employed at Boeing for many years and retired in 1977. In retirement, John enjoyed traveling, playing golf and classic cars. However, his greatest love was spending time in his workshop building things out of wood for his family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents George and Martha and is survived by his loving wife Sandy of 43 years. Family members include brother-in-law Norm Nelson (Elaine), sister-in-law Lois Towle (Mike) and Lori Martin (Tony) and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 to 5:00 pm Thursday, April 7th with funeral services 11:00 am Friday April 8, 2011 at Greenwood Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Ave. N.E., Renton, Washington 98056.
