Joseph W. Bell was born on August 8, 1943 in Kansas and passed on to eternity on February 1, 2026. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a hospital corpsman. After his discharge from active duty, he went into the naval reserves. He worked for the Veterans Administration as an operating room technician, then he went into social services. During this time, he earned his bachelor’s degree in social work, then a master’s in public administration, and eventually became Chief Human Resources Officer for the Veterans Administration. He graciously became a parent to his sisters, Karen and Kathy, after the passing of Mother. This was one of the most selfless acts that he could have done for them because he did not have to.
Joseph looked out for the betterment of others and provided opportunities to those who really needed it.
Joseph is survived by his two sisters and longtime friend Bruce Jensen. His presence in our lives is tremendously missed. He is loved and greatly appreciated for his care and kindness.
