Kenneth Laverne Haworth

Kenneth LaVerne Haworth, 90, was born in Hawthorne, WI on Feb 21, 1936. He attended Superior Central High School. He married Jane, his high school sweetheart in 1954, and they enjoyed over 71 years together.

Ken & Jane started their lives together in Superior, WI. After having three children, they moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1962. They initially lived for a short time in Carbonado, WA, then moved to the Rainier View neighborhood of south Seattle where they raised their family. In 1998 they moved to their current home in Graham, WA.

Ken’s first job was as a railroad section worker. After moving to WA, he worked for the Boeing Company where he was an IAM machinist in the Fabrication Division. He retired from Boeing in 1993 after 31 years.

Ken was a car enthusiast, especially old Chevys. He rebuilt and pieced together a multitude of old cars, engines and transmissions. He was a mechanic who could build or fix just about anything. He still had his 1957 Chevy Nomad which was his pride and joy. His latest project was the restoration of a 1941 Mercury Coupe. When he wasn’t working on cars, he enjoyed being outdoors, and loved to hunt and fish.

Ken passed away at his home on April 5, 2026 after several months of battling health issues.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Vern & Charlotte Haworth; brothers Doug & Marlyn Haworth; sister Carol Bolen; son Kenneth Jr “Buzz”; and grandson Scott Haworth.

Ken is survived by his wife Jane; son Steve (Vicki) Haworth; daughter Tammy (Richard) Harrigill; brothers Larry (Peggy) and David (Gloria) Haworth; grandsons Steve Haworth Jr, Rich (Brenda) Harrigill and Jim (Hope) Harrigill; granddaughters Mikayla (Keefe) Bieggar and Christa (Tim) Bergquist; Nine great grandchildren; Three great great grandchildren.

Private burial is at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, WA, where he is laid to rest beside his son Buzz. A public memorial service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026, 11am, at New Life Church, 15711 152nd Ave SE, Renton, WA.
