

Macaria Reyes Martin died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 5, 2014 in Renton, WA. She was born on October 19, 1923 in La Paz Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Donato and Perpetua Reyes Martin. She married her beloved husband Pedro Julian Martin (deceased 1993) on March 2, 1949. Macaria came to America by boat with infant daughter, Merlita arriving in Seattle in the summer of 1950. They settled in South Park and later moved to Beacon Hill. They had two more children, Henry and Pedro Jr.
Macaria was an avid seamstress, loved gardening and of course cooking her favorites for family and friends. She was also a life time member of the “Maria Clara Lodge #152”. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family, especially her 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Macaria is survived by her children; grandchildren; great grandchildren and also her sister, Maria Pinera; brother, Juan Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
We want to express our deepest thanks and appreciation for the love and care for our mom by the whole “Lakeshore” staff. Mom, we love you dearly and will miss you but we know you are now with dad in heaven.
Recitations of the Rosary June 19th at 6:00pm with viewing between 4:00-8:00pm at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home in Renton, WA.
Funeral Mass will be on June 20th at 11:00am at St. Anthony Parish in Renton, WA followed by a Graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Park. Reception will follow graveside at St. Paul’s in Renton.
