Engr. Manuel C. Balbas

Manuel was born on May 2, 1946 in Gerona, Tarlac, Philippines to Mercedes and Ricardo Balbas. He graduated from Gerona Institute. Manuel had recently retired after a successful career as a civil engineer with the Washington State Department of Transportation. In 1969, Manuel was happily married to Amelia Daquis Peralta who was his partner in life for 50 years.

Manuel is survived by his wife, son Manuel Jr., Avelina (daughter-in-law), son Emmanuel, daughter Minerva. And grandchildren, Jennifer and Johnathan.

His biggest accomplishment was bringing his family to the United States in the 1980’s. Manuel loved to spend time with his family and friends. He had a heart for others and loved to make everyone laugh. He touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life.

Viewing service for Manuel will be held Monday, July 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM, with rosary to begin promptly at 5:00 PM at Greenwood Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Avenue Northeast, Renton, Washington.

Funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St Anthony's, 416 South 4th Street, Renton, Washington.

Graveside/burial service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 37600 Pacific Highway South, Federal Way, Washington.
