

Maria was born on October 13, 1930 in El Paso, Texas. She had 2 older sisters and 2 younger brothers. She married her husband, Orlan, in 1952 and moved to Washington state. They were married for 46 years until his passing in November of 1999. They had 5 children: Joan, Debbie, Doug, Karen, and Jeri.
Maria worked for 28 years as a bartender. Mostly at Mike's Place Tavern in Renton. She also worked sometime for Dinos and the Ron-dee-voo Taverns. She was known for her hot sauce, which she made by the gallons and sold in quart jars.
She was an avid bowler in her younger years belonging to a league at the Hillcrest Bowling Alley, for many years. She was famous for her pies. She baked all the time; cakes, cookies, banana bread. There was always plenty of goodies for her family to eat. Maria's home was a happy and fun place. Many family dinners and Easter egg hunts in the yard. Her home was also a refuge for those who had fallen on hard times. She never turned away anyone in need.
Maria's hobby was taking care of her chickens. She would sell the eggs to the adult family home down the street. Maria was kept busy by raising some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, helping to get them to their sporting events and school functions. She was always there when she could be.
Maria leaves behind her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren: Jessica Neathery, Tommy Mewborn, and Marvin Maloy.
Maria's life spanned 6 generations of children and she loved each and everyone of them very much. Our love will never die. She will be greatly missed, but remembered forever. Till we meet again momma. We all love you.
