Ernest Mohr and Lillian Stephens Mohr. The family moved to Seattle in the early 1940’s looking for work.
Nancy graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1953. Her mother recognized Nancy had a good natural singing voice and when she was 17, her mom arranged for private voice lessons from the head of Seattle University’s music department. Appreciating and performing music was always a big part of her life. She sang with the Seattle Chorale, sang in several church choirs and performed numerous solos at various churches.
She and her husband George were married on July 4th, 1958 and they celebrated their 66th anniversary this past July. She is survived by George, daughter Constance Schneider-Brown and husband Todd, son Greg Brown, grandchildren Tanya Brown, Nicolas Brown and Natalie Brown, and great-grandchildren Isaiah, Livia and Cristian Cortez.
Nancy was a dedicated mom, grandma and great- grandma. She poured her love into her family but she had other great loves as well.
Among Nancy’s great loves was her dedication to Bible Study Fellowship. She served in many leadership positions for nearly 35 years and she especially loved working with high school age kids.
Nancy was a long-time member at Boulevard Park Church in Burien and served as a deaconess and as a member of the Missions committee.
Most of all, Nancy was a dedicated Christian with a deep love for Jesus. That is what she would most like to be remembered for – a dedicated Christian who wanted others to find what she had found – salvation through Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held at Boulevard Park Church, 1822 S 128th Street, Burien on January 18th at 2 PM.
