

Olga (Breznikar) Purcell passed away April 8, 2012. She was born May 16, 1918 in Red Lodge, Montana to Anton and Teresa (Pavlin) Breznikar. She graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1936. Olga worked in Cle Elum and Renton for Pacific Telephone as a telephone operator for many years. Olga married Lewis Purcell of Renton on 12-16-43 in New London, Conn. where Lewis was an instructor at the Coast Guard Academy. Later they moved back to Renton, where she continued working as a telephone operator at Boeing until her retirement in 1980. Olga was a member of the Kennydale Garden Club and won many ribbons for her flower arranging. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and loved to dance. She volunteered at the Renton Senior Center and made many friends. She was a member of Slovenian Lodge 11 where she served as Secretary/Treasurer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Purcell in 2001 and her brother Ernest Breznikar in 2002. She is survived by daughter Nancy Purcell of Renton, son Dave (Sandy) Purcell of Yakima, grandchildren Karen (Jim) DeLand of Bothell, and Traci (Blake) Joiner of Yakima, six great grandchildren, a brother Tony (Mickey) Breznikar of Renton, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 11:00AM at Greenwood Memorial Park.
