

Rosemary aka “Rose” Bias- McClam received her wings on Saturday September 7th 2013 around 2:50PM with family by her side. Rose was born on June 26, 1958 in Seattle, Washington to James and Mattie Lee Bias. Rose had six siblings that resided in Washington state and two brothers in Texas.
In 1977, she graduated from Immaculate Conception high school. Beyond high school Rose attended Seattle Central Community College gaining an AA degree in Administration. Later she attended the University of Phoenix to pursue her undergraduate degree in Business just 1 year shy of finishing due to an illness.
Rose worked in the library field for over 30 years, starting her career as a Senior Library Assistant for the Seattle Public Library to later become a Library Specialist (Video Librarian) for Boeing Company.
She belonged to Saint Edward parish where she participated as an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. Rose was very involved in the community her proudest involvements were volunteering at the church, the library and worked at the hospital as a candy striper. Her proudest family moments besides when each of her children were born; was when she purchased her first home. Some of the hobbies that Rose enjoyed were: traveling, baking, playing game on Facebook, sewing, walks and reading books.
In her early years she enjoyed time spent with family on fishing trips to Moses Lake. Also enjoying holidays spent with relatives her aunts, uncles and cousins. She had a passion for traveling which started in high school with a 6 week trip in Europe. After that experience Rose began to discover a new found passion of exploring the world. One of her cruises included a 7 days cruise to San Juan, Caracas, Grenada, Barbados, Saint Thomas and Martinique which wouldn’t be her last. Other places she has visited throughout her life were Puerto Rico, Bahamas, The Virgin Islands and Mexico. Rose’s most recent trips were to Reno and Vegas where she loved to play the slot machines.
People who knew Rose would describe her as a kind hearted individual who took the time see things in a different perspective. An innocent, strong wheeled person who had to overcame many barriers in life without complaining by just figuring things out.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents James and Mattie Lee Bias; four brothers Jesse and Leroy Cummings; Marshall and James Bias.
Rose is survived by her sister Dianne Mollette; Brothers Timothy “Tippy” and William “Willie” Cummings and sister Sharon Bias; three children Steven McClam II, Lavina and Christopher McClam their father Steven McClam I; one grand – daughter Saymirah Cornelius-McClam and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
