

Samuel Ralph Casal, was born March 25, 1929, and his life came to a close on March 17, 2024. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Maria Casal and Michele Louie (Cat), along with his beloved granddaughter, Amber Casal. Sam was preceded in passing by his cherished wife, Pearl Casal, their two sons, Christopher and John, and his older brother, Henry Casal.
Born in Seattle, Washington to Salvador and Elizabeth Casal. In 1950, Sam enlisted to the Army during Korean War. Serving state side as a Master Sargent at Fort Lewis (now known as JBLM) and was honorably discharged in 1952. After serving his country, Sam enrolled at Seattle University and graduated on May 29, 1953 with his Bachelor’s degree in commercial science. Sam joined a local grocery company and soon became the Meat Market Manager; and eventually retiring in 1991. Within six short months of dating, Sam knew Pearl was the one for him. They exchanged vows on May 6, 1961 and welcomed their four children into their shared love.
Sam and Pearl shared a love of fishing, gliding on the ballroom dance floor and taking travel adventures. A man of profound devotion, Sam was a dedicated Catholic. His loving wife by his side, the couple volunteered 15 years at Providence Hospital, praying with patients and providing communion. Sam deepened his spiritual journey by becoming a member of the Carmelites (Order of the Brother of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel). For over a decade, Sam was dedicated to prayer, community and services.
Sam was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose loving nature deeply impacted the lives of all who knew him, leaving behind a treasure trove of cherished memories.
Sam lived a full and blessed life. He was a very special man, a blessed soul, and amazing bright spot in everyone’s day. He will be greatly missed!
