Terry was born in Marquette, Michigan, on February 6, 1941. When he was of age, he joined the Navy and was a coxswain. After his Naval career ended, he returned home to Marquette, Michigan, only to find that his mom had moved to Port Angeles, Washington.
As we understand it, shortly after arriving in Port Angeles, he made his way to a bar where he met a fellow military gentleman. As a conversation ensued, this gentleman asked Terry if he wanted to ride with him to pick up his cousin and the cousin's friend. This adventure led to Terry meeting Janice Schultz, his future wife. They started dating, and it wasn't long before they learned Janice was pregnant. They got married and moved to Renton, Washington, where Terry landed a job at a brick factory. Soon after that, he pursued a job as a truck driver, which is the job he retired from.
The only thingTerry didn't like about being a truck driver was being away from Janice. Their relationship is something to be admired. When Janice's health started to fail, and she needed more help than Terry could provide, they were able to get her into an adult family home. Terry lasted about a year on his own, but Sundowners started to get to him, so he too moved into the same adult family home and was able to share a room with Janice.
Terry is survived by his wife, Janice, and their two children, Alfred Girard and Diana Hiatt (Girard). Three grandchildren, Darek Girard, Garret Girard and Amy Girard, one great grandchild, Colter Girard. Sisters-in-law Connie Reynolds, Jan Schultz, and Sandy Girard. Nieces Michelle and Christine, Donna Jacobson and Michelle Lewis, Treena Treese, and nephew Roger Schultz.
