Thelma Jenkins ( Pressley), born on March 1, 1937, in Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on August 4, 2024, at the age of 87 in Seattle, WA. Thelma's early years in South Carolina laid a strong foundation for a life marked by devotion to her family and a successful career. She worked and retired as an Electrical Supervisor for Boeing, showcasing her remarkable intelligence and skill in a challenging field.
Thelma's personality was a beacon of joy; her smile and contagious laugh could light up any room. She was known for her spunky and stubborn nature, as well as her exceptional mathematical abilities. Thelma found joy in simple pleasures like gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and her involvement with the Fun Seekers RV Club. She was an avid fan of "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy" and kept up with local sports teams.
Family was the cornerstone of Thelma's life. She is survived by her children, Cephus Jr. and ShirleyAnn Jenkins; siblings Annette Pressley Lott, Betty Lawrence, Lorene Holmes, Robert Pressley and LeRoy Pressley; grandchildren Monique, Jordan, Marcell, Chandler , Mikka and Malik; great-grandchildren Solana, Quinten, Alex, and Emerald, along with bonus grands and great-grands Jacob, Shaniah, Chace, and Adriel. Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cephus Jenkins Sr., her parents Cathrine Duberry-Wright and Hayward Pressley, brother Arthur Pressley, and sister-in-law Wanda Wilson Pressley.
Thelma was a faithful member of the Church of God Evangelistic Center, where her service will be held. Her final resting place will be beside her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery. Greenwood Memorial in Renton, WA, is assisting the family during this time.
Thelma Jenkins will be remembered as a safe haven and a source of unwavering support to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire and influence generations.
