

Tony Mola passed away peacefully on October 8, 2014 after living a long and fulfilling life. He was born in Easton, WA January 17, 1924 to Esther and Mike Mola. He is survived by his children, Beverly Fenton (Bob), Ed Mola (Lisa). Grandchildren Joe Fenton, Jason Mola, Karla Mola, Erik Mola. Sister Frances Lembo (Dick). Longtime companion Cindy Larson. Brothers- in- law and Sisters-in- law, Violet DiPietro, Mondo and Maffalda Scoccolo, Mary Scoccolo, Eda and Dario Mastandrea. Numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
After graduation from Tahoma High School in 1942 he enlisted in the Navy where he was trained as a machinist. His Navy career took him throughout the South Pacific. In 1945 he witnessed the signing of the Peace Treaty. After 40 years of active and reserve duty he retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was proud to have served his country and shared many stories. Tony kept in contact with those he served with by attending many reunions, the last being three weeks before his passing.
In 1946 he married Jeana Scoccolo. On any given weekend they could be seen dancing with friends at the Spanish Castle. They enjoyed entertaining and being with family.
Tony worked as a machinist at Cascade Machinery. In 1968 he opened his own business, Utilities Service Co. He remained active in the business up until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Sons of Italy for over 50 years, served on the Renton Planning Commission, and was a member NECA.
After moving to Kent Tony attended St Barbara’s Parish and became an active member of the church community.
Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great- uncle, great-great-uncle, godfather, and friend. As expressed by a friend, “If one met him yesterday, you would feel you had a friend for life. He made one think about how he interacted with people, passing joy and love with every handshake and hug. That smile and genuine happiness; what a role model he was.”
His zest for the love of life as well as his genuine smile will be forever in our hearts.
