

William Henry “Bill” Davis, 80 years old, died Feb 09, 2013 in Renton, WA. He was born in Hearne, TX on Feb 27, 1932 to Arvie Marie Johnson and Jetson Louis Davis, Sr. He graduated from Blackshear High School in 1949.
In 1950 he joined the U.S. Army and was sent to Korea where he was captured by North Korean forces in 1951 and held captive until 1953. Bill remained in the Army after repatriation and served in Panama, Vietnam (3 tours) and Ft Lewis WA (2 tours) among other posts. He also attended the US Armed Forces Institute, University of Puget Sound, Florida State University and was an advisor to the ROTC at Seattle University. He graduated from Columbia College in 1976 with a BA in Individual Studies.
While serving in the Army he received several awards and commendations. After retiring from 27 years as a Sargeant Major in the Army, Bill worked at Boeing for 16 years. In August of 1988 he married Karon Lynn Olsen. He was a member of the Korea EX-POW organization, the American EX-POW organization and several other Veterans organizations.He also volunteered for Travelers Aid and its subsequent organization for many years at SEA-TAC airport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Darthulia and brother Jetson, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Karon, stepchildren Eric Olsen (Fonda), Kirsten Games (Dean), and Trina Semken; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the V.A. Hospital in Seattle for their decades long care and concern; the Renton Fire Department, EMTs, and the staff at Valley Medical Center ER.
Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in June.
