Wrex Robert Cleese, 58, of Concord, California passed peacefully January 13, 2016 while in the care of the Gene and Irene Wockner Hospice Center in Kirkland, Washington. As the youngest of seven children, Wrex was loved and enriched by the relationships of each sibling. Wrex built his career in drywall and construction, drawing upon a deeply rooted Cleese lumber and millwork history in Menlo Park, California. Wrex spent hours in his garage with its never-ending projects which he often gifted to his family and friends. The countless hours with his children in his garage leave them with memories of his love, his craft, and his thoughts on life.
Whether scuba diving, golfing, or camping, Wrex’s life was full of robust hilarity and generosity. Wrex was preceded in death by his father, John I. Cleese, Jr., yet survived by his mother, Lillie Cleese; sisters Susan Bristow, Nancy (Rob) VanSiegman, Beverly (Gerald) Askey, Kathleen (Mark) Simonsen, Patricia Cleese; brother, David Cleese; his five beautiful children: Alicia (Daniel) Hanke, Scott Cleese, Anna Cleese, Stephen Cleese, and Jessica Cleese; and his two cherished grandchildren Samantha and Reid.
Revelations 21:4 is our comfort: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes: there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Cards and flowers for the family may be sent to Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Hospice of Kirkland, Washington.
