Yessica Alejandra Sanchez Espinoza

Yessica Alejandra Sanchez Espinoza, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at 12:27 p.m. at UW Medical Center – Montlake ICU, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply. She was 49 years old.

Yessica was born on October 10, 1976, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, to her devoted parents, Rosa María Espinoza Escobedo and Rodolfo Luna Sanchez, who survive her. From a young age, Yessica’s vibrant spirit shone brightly. She loved dressing up, designing clothes and jewelry, and creating beautiful things with her hands. Crafting wasn’t just a hobby for her—it was a joyful expression of who she was.

In 1993, Yessica met the love of her life, Ignacio Esqueda Sanchez. The two married in 1994 and welcomed their first child, Daniel, in 1995. In 1996, they courageously made the journey to the United States, eventually settling in Issaquah, Washington, where they built a warm and loving home. Yessica began working at Malarkey’s Sports Bar and Grill in 1998 alongside Ignacio, forming lifelong friendships and becoming a cherished part of the community.

Yessica and Ignacio grew their beautiful family over the years: Arxel arrived in 1999, Angel in 2002, and in 2006 Yessica’s long-held dream came true when she welcomed her only daughter, Cinthya. Being a mother was her greatest joy, and her children were the pride of her life. She delighted in every moment—school activities, soccer practices, celebrations, family trips, and quiet days at home. She especially treasured summers at Lake Chelan and Lake Sammamish, where she and her family paddleboarded, shared meals, laughed, and created memories that will last forever.

Known for her creativity and warm presence, Yessica loved to cook, bake, craft, and express herself through beauty—doing her hair and makeup always brought her happiness. She had a lively spirit and enjoyed dancing at community events, singing karaoke, savoring margaritas, and sharing tacos with loved ones. Her ability to brighten any space with her smile and humor will never be forgotten.

Yessica was also a proud and devoted grandmother to five grandchildren: AJ, Aaliyah, Lorenzo, Julius, and her newest grandson—Arxel’s baby boy, arriving in January 2026. She adored them deeply, showering them with love, snuggles, and endless affection.

In February 2024, Yessica bravely began her battle with lymphoma. She fought with remarkable strength, optimism, and grace. She celebrated remission in June 2024, but later that year faced the heartbreaking news that the cancer had returned and spread to her brain. Despite the physical hardship and countless treatments, she continued to fight with courage, supported by the unwavering love of her family.

After months of treatments, complications, and time in the hospital, her care team shared in late September 2025 that her body was too tired to continue. She returned home to be surrounded by those she loved most. On November 28th, she was rushed to the hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing. At UW Montlake ICU, she was tenderly cared for in her final days and on November 30th, she found peace.

Yessica’s legacy is one of love, resilience, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind her husband of 31 years, Ignacio; her children Daniel (and family), Arxel (and family), Angel, and Cinthya; her grandchildren; her parents; her siblings; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Her family will carry her spirit in their hearts always, finding comfort in the laughter she shared, the traditions she created, and the love she gave so generously.

Yessica nació el 10 de octubre de 1976 en Guadalajara, Jalisco, hija de Rosa María Espinoza Escobedo y Rodolfo Luna Sánchez, quienes aún viven. Desde muy pequeña, el espíritu vibrante de Yessica brillaba con fuerza. Le encantaba vestirse, diseñar ropa y joyería, y crear cosas hermosas con sus manos. Las manualidades no eran solo un pasatiempo para ella, sino una expresión alegre de quién era.

En 1993, Yessica conoció al amor de su vida, Ignacio Esqueda Sánchez. Se casaron en 1994 y en 1995 dieron la bienvenida a su primer hijo, Daniel. En 1996 tomaron juntos la valiente decisión de emigrar a los Estados Unidos, estableciéndose finalmente en Issaquah, Washington, donde construyeron un hogar cálido y lleno de amor. En 1998, Yessica comenzó a trabajar junto a Ignacio en Malarkey’s Sports Bar and Grill, donde formó amistades duraderas y se convirtió en una parte querida de la comunidad.

Con el paso de los años, Yessica e Ignacio hicieron crecer su hermosa familia: Arxel llegó en 1999, Angel en 2002 y, en 2006, el sueño más grande de Yessica se cumplió cuando nació su única hija, Cinthya. Ser madre fue su mayor orgullo y alegría. Disfrutaba cada momento: las actividades escolares, los entrenamientos de fútbol, las celebraciones, los viajes en familia y los días tranquilos en casa. Valoraba especialmente los veranos en Lake Chelan y Lake Sammamish, donde la familia paseaba en paddleboard, compartía comidas, reía, y creaba recuerdos inolvidables.

Conocida por su creatividad y su calidez, Yessica amaba cocinar, hornear, hacer manualidades y expresarse a través del arreglo personal; arreglarse el cabello y maquillarse siempre le alegraba el día. Tenía un espíritu alegre y disfrutaba bailar en eventos comunitarios, cantar karaoke, saborear margaritas y compartir tacos con sus seres queridos. Su sonrisa y sentido del humor iluminaban cualquier lugar.

Yessica también fue una abuela orgullosa y dedicada. Le sobreviven cinco nietos: AJ, Aaliyah, Lorenzo, Julius y su más reciente nietecito —el bebé de Arxel— que llegará en enero del 2026. Adoraba a cada uno de ellos, siempre lista para consentirlos, abrazarlos y llenarlos de cariño.

En febrero de 2024, Yessica comenzó su valiente batalla contra el linfoma. Enfrentó cada desafío con fortaleza, optimismo y gracia, y celebró un periodo de remisión en junio de 2024. Sin embargo, más tarde ese mismo año recibió la dolorosa noticia de que el cáncer había regresado y se había extendido a su cerebro. A pesar del sufrimiento físico y los numerosos tratamientos, continuó luchando con coraje, sostenida por el amor incondicional de su familia.

Tras meses de tratamientos y complicaciones, en septiembre de 2025 su equipo médico informó a la familia que su cuerpo ya estaba demasiado cansado para continuar. Regresó a casa para estar rodeada de quienes más amaba. El 28 de noviembre fue llevada nuevamente al hospital después de presentar dificultades para respirar. En la unidad de cuidados intensivos del UW Montlake fue atendida con compasión en sus días finales. El 30 de noviembre, Yessica encontró la paz.

Yessica deja un legado de amor, resiliencia, creatividad y profunda dedicación a su familia. Le sobreviven su esposo por 31 años, Ignacio; sus hijos Daniel (y familia), Arxel, Angel y Cinthya; sus nietos; sus padres; y muchos familiares y amigos que siempre apreciarán el impacto de su luz, su calidez y el amor que entregó tan generosamente.

Su espíritu alegre, su corazón bondadoso y la felicidad que aportó a cada momento vivirán para siempre en los corazones de su familia.
