Alex J. Grosh, age, 51, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. He was the second of three children born to Dennis and Thelma Grosh in West Allis, Wisconsin. After living briefly in Wisconsin, Michigan and Georgia, the Grosh family moved to Richardson, Texas—the place Alex called home.
Upon graduating from Berkner High School in 1989, he moved to Orlando and earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Central Florida. Alex then earned a master’s degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville—and became a proud fan of the Florida Gators. He returned to Dallas and took a job at Nortel, where he met several colleagues who would become some of his closest friends.
Alex had a large group of friends in Dallas which is where he met his wife Carrie.
They married on May 27, 2005, and the couple celebrated their honeymoon in Ireland and Scotland. In 2009, they embarked on an even greater adventure with the birth of their daughter Mackenzie—followed by Matthew in 2011 and Madeleine in 2012.
Alex was most proud of his children. Some of the kids’ fondest memories are of going out to eat, vacations and movie nights with their dad. He loved attending all of his kids’ activities whether it was horseback riding with Mackenzie, lacrosse and basketball with Matthew or volleyball with Madeleine.
Alex was a caring man with a big heart, who could always be counted on to help anyone who asked. He was a devoted son who called his mother nearly every day, and he loved spending time with his sister and brother.
Alex enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a nice craft beer, a walk with his dogs, and witty conversations with friends and family.
Alex is survived by his wife Carrie, their daughter Mackenzie, son Matthew, and daughter Madeleine; his mother Thelma Grosh of Dallas, TX; his sister Kristine Marquis of Hutchinson, KS; his niece and nephew Addison and Austin; his brother Bryan of Addison, TX; his parents in-law Mary and Ron Splett of Apple Valley, MN; his brother-in-law David Splett of Loveland, CO; and his niece Emily. He was predeceased by his father, Dennis Grosh.
